Question:

I want to get married on a mountain in the Yukon near grizzly bears. Am I crazy?

I would love for my photographer to shoot us while grizzly bears are grazing in the back ground.

I cannot think of a better natural spot in the world to get married other than the beautiful Yukon or British Columbia.

  1. It's generally not a good idea to hang around "grazing" grizzly bears... you see when they are grazing that means they are looking for food... which means they will probably try to eat you

  2. your crazy. try a yukon (like the suv) and LA in the background.

  3. If that's what you and your fiance want, then do it!

I can only offer you two pieces of advice:

    1. If you see a grizzly, or any other bear, running toward you, do not run! They can cover a lot of ground, very quickly, and will catch you.

    2. Simply bend over, put your head between your knees and kiss your butt good-bye!

    (Just kidding!)

I truly think it would  be a unique & lovely wedding and I hope your marriage is filled with sunshine, rainbows and butterflies.

    P.S.

I did a Yahoo web search for Alaskan wilderness weddings and visited the following sites. Even without the bears, a wedding at any of them would be beautiful.

    ridgewoodlodge@homernet.com

    kenaifjordlodge.com

    alaskaweddings@gci.net

    stillpointlodge.com

    alaskansourdoughbb.com

    weddingsinhomer.com

    Also, check out this site:

  4. BEARS DONT GRAZE MORON

Get married in Whistler or something they have a bear habitat up there somewhere (i think) so you could work that out somehow...

  5. I personally doubt that you are going to get a picture of a grizzly in the background 'grazing', while you are all dressed up in your wedding dress.  Grizzlies are reclusive and only approach people if they feel threatened (and will likely attack if one is veering toward you).  Furthermore, their homeranges are huge meaning that where you will be staying/taking pictures, there will likely only be one or two in the area.  They likely won't be around the resort that you will be staying at however.  The only times I have seen grizzlies is when I have been deep in the mountains, having hiked into meadows.  I don't think that I have ever seen one while on a hiking path either.

Why don't you have your pictures taken with some nice waterfalls in the background?  It would be safer
