  1. don't know for sure, but i can't imagine there's any water around here clear enough for you to have your wedding in.  definitely go to florida or south...somewhere in the caribbean.  beautiful clear water there!  don't make it a destination wedding (i'm with you on that BTW!)...just an intimate ceremony underwater, and then take your honeymoon.  when you come back, that's when you'd have your reception.  definitely have a video made of it and show it at the reception.  i remember seeing the video of the florida news people undersater not too long ago!  here's a whole site dedicated to underwater weeddings...what to do, how to do it, who you'll need, and places you can go.  good luck!

  2. Getting married underwater is going to be a destination for pretty much all of your guests unless they are PADI/NAUI certified!

Another idea what about getting married in an Aquarium or at one of the water exhibits at the zoo?

Here's a list of accredited zoos/aquariums in the US:

  3. umm.... i would get scubasuits and go to my backyard pool and invite my friends.interesting idea.....married under water.hmmmm.

  4. You wouldn't be the first. I think you should have the party afterwards. :)

  5. Your local water treatment plant will be happy to have you plan your underwater wedding there

  6. You could do a combination honeymoon/wedding in Hawaii and just have a party when you come back. Some places even have a live web-feed so people can watch online!

Hope this helps!!! Have fun, that sounds awesome!

  7. A private cermeony would make since seeing as you can ahve everyone under there with you.  Have a reception and show photos once you return.

  8. maybe you could have your underwater wedding video taped and play it at a reception when you get back

  9. I think you should have a party when you get back. But maybe ask your closest friend, or parents or something so someone special can see it!

  10. A highly visited sight for underwater weddings is in Key Largo Florida.  It is a statue of Jesus with a made alter and everything! Its really cool! I made a dive there about 4 years ago. It should not be hard to find, look it up in key largo florida. Good luck!

  11. I live in North Florida near Panama City Beach. I know for a fact a few years ago the local news anchor and her "now" husband were married underwater. They had the occasion filmed of course. They had a huge gathering the next day and showed the film to all the guests then they all celebrated as if it was a reception in a traditional sense. I think you shouldn't worry about everyone being there as long as it's recorded then have a gathering and enjoy. I will say both your parents may at least want to be on the boat watching from above, or even in the water with you...

I do however agree that destination weddings are kinda rude, epically if the bride and groom aren't so well off that they can pay for all the guests travel and lodging.
