HI agian

i have asked i similar question to this before and i forgot to add some thing in.

i am interested in getting 2 female mice with my birthday money but my mum hates mice and she would probly say no to getting them:(

at the moment i have a dog that is shared between me and my brother so we take turns feeding it and stuff and i also got 2 female rabbits about 7 months ago and they are mine that i look after, anyway how do i convince my mum to let me to get the mice? because she will think that i dont want my rabbits and dog and that i dont care about them any more and that i am getting bord with them (which i am not i just like to have lots of animals) i have already composed a book all about mice and how to take care of them and looked at cages and products for them.

so how should i tell her? what should i say and what should i do to make her say yes!

  1. Do your chores before being asked to do so and even if you don't have chores just help around the house without being asked to do so. Mice are really cheap and easy to care for. The most expensive part of mice is getting them toys and their cages. They do potty train (all 3 of mine are) you don't have to potty train them but you can. Get your bedding for them and your food together costs no more than $20. Food lasts them 4lb bag $6 lasts 3-4 months bedding if changed every2-3 weeks lasts the same or more. Do odd jobs for people to make money to feed your pets. You would need to get females if you get more than one because males fight. Be sure that they come from the same tank. Also its sometimes a great idea to get a glass tank with air holes in it. Thats what we have. We have a 40gallon tank and it works great. The tank needs at least an exercise wheel. We also have a fish tank castle that they sleep in. Fish toys give them more privacy. They don't use their mouse bed at least mine don't. Good luck.. I saw a post from someone else that said do it behind their back. DO NOT DO THAT. I am a parent and if my kids did that even if they do show that they are responsible enough, I wouldn't allow them to have the mice or any pet, because that tells the child its ok to do things behind your parent's back. It's not ok to give a reward for doing something that you were told not to do. Good luck Sweetie.

  2. Well for starters, how about trying the following:

#1 Cleaning your room and making sure that it STAYS clean and tidy.

#2 Making sure that your homework is done and handed in on time.

#3 Sweep the floors in the living room and kitchen without your parents asking you to.

#4 Wash and/or dry the dishes.

#5 Do not fight and argue with your sisters & brothers.

#6 Eat what you are given and don't whine or make "yuck" faces when given it.

#7 Don't talk rudly to adults

#8 Always share with other kids.

#9 Go to bed when you are told to.

#10 Research the pet and breed you want to be 100% certain that it is the right one for you.

    # 11 Ask them about getting this new pet in a nice way and don't beg and whine about it.

If 100% sure that if you give those a try, they will see that you are serious about wanting to add a this pet to your life and family. :)

  3. I had the same problem when I wanted to start breeding hamsters, I already have lots of pets but I love them all so much. Like you I did lots of research, one reason your Mum might say no is because of the smell.... They won't smell if you clean them out lots also a good trick is to add a drop of vanilla essence to their water bottles as this does something to get rid of most of the ammonia. If she is afraid they might bite, say that you will handle them lots and make them really tame. If she thinks that the cost will be too high with the cage and alll that, say that you have looked into second hand cages. Basically all you need to do is come up with a rational  answer to all of her queries, because she can't really say no if you have figured out all of her possible rebuttles. Good luck I hope she lets you!!!

  4. well, mice are really nothing to laugh at. they need love, care, and a good home. you said one really good thing. you wanted two. there social and love to be together. i would really say though, you have two rabbits. they need a lot of attention them selfes. getting two mice may take away from that. if you are gunna get mice, just make sure you have at least the time to play with them.
