I want to get more into comic books, where should I start?

I've been reading some of the Batman graphic novels, like The Dark Knight Returns, Year One, and Arkham Asylum. I have also read Watchmen. I want to get farther into the world of comic books, but there are so many different variations of all the different superheroes that I don't know where to go next. Any suggestions?

I've been trying to get more in to graphic novels as well.

Wanted was a pretty good one.

The movie Wanted with Angelina Jolie was based on the comic.

It's a lot darker and the plot line is pretty different.

Another one I've been reading is Y The Last Man on Earth.

There's ten books in the series.

It's about all of the men in the world just dropping dead.

And this guy Yorick and his pet monkey Amperstand are the only beings with a Y cromosone to survive.

Also any of the Marvel comic are pretty good.

Iron Man, Hulk, etc.

I would suggest find a local comic book store and starting there. They usual have updates on things like convention, which will sell a mix of different genres and years. Right now I am really it the Luna Brothers "The Sword" comic series.

Start with the classic justice league stuff, i would tell you to start with watchmen, that's what i did, but you've read it already, then do some good batman stuff, like the killing joke, that's a good one, from there go to x-men or iron man or something else, you'll start to find which you like and which you don't.

Well it already seems like you have favorites so far. Batman. Watchmen. These are good starts. Batman will be a wider selection for you to begin collecting. As far as the Watchmen you've already bought the graphic novel I assume, so its not necessary to collect further there. If you can, try and make it to a local comic convention and purchase some comics from a vendor there. They will have several discount bins for you to find numerous stuff cheap.

You can check out www.drunkduck.com, it is a community for comic lovers and creators.  It is free to read all the different comics, and if you are artistic you can actually publish your own book on-line for free.  They have a huge section to choose from to read, and the different books are updated at different time, such as daily, every other day, or weekly, depending on the creator/creators.  Check out the KISS 4K section, it is a comic book about the KISS rock band and is actually a continuation of the story from the first 6 issues from last year, and it is free.  They are going to be in print later this year or early next, but you can read them.  You can also check out www.wowio.com for free comics to read that have been published, such as the first 6 issues of the KISS book.  Lastly you can check out www.zuda.com for on-line comics, and can vote on which one you feel is the best.  Good luck, and welcome to the fabulous world of comics!
