  1. It is probably the metal.  Not only is it a possibility that you are allergic to the more fine metals but the earrings that have made your ears yucky could have been nickel based or some other metal.  I have my ears pierced (2 holes), my eyebrow, and my nose.  I don't wear earrings much anymore but I know for my face the best metals are titanium and things of the like.  Also, do not pierce your bellybutton yourself or go to some shady piercer, that could be your downfall.  Ask a few people you know who have theirs done and go from there.  While you are at the piercing parlor ask your piercer the do's and don't, how long it will take to heal, and what metals are best.  And NEVER buy your body jewelry from gas stations or hair salons(my friend's mistake)!  Hope this helps.

  2. I am allergic to jewelry, always have been.. i got my ears pierced young too (2wks old!!!). I got my belly buton pierced 4 weeks ago. I'm allergic to nickel. my ring is surgical steel, which he said MIGHT contain traces of nickel... but I haven't had ANY problems with the surgical steel at all. Thats why they make thnem out of this material cuz they know many girls will be allergic to nickel.

If you want a piercing, try the surgical steel ones, and they also make them in Titanium (a different kind of metal that is anti-allergic),

and they make acrylic and plastic ones too (you cant use those for a fresh piercing though). and they make 14k/24k real gold rings too (they are expensive).

if you are still not sure, what I did was, tape the ring to your skin and let it stay there for an hour or 2.. if you react to it, then definitely dont get that type of metal.

  3. Your age has nothing to do with whether or not you're allergic to whatever material is used in the earrings you were pierced with.  Earrings are made of all kinds of different materials, so it's highly unlikely that you'd be allergic to all earrings.  When they pierce your bellybutton their pierce you with stainless steel.  If you suspect that you might be allergic to stainless steel, then be sure to mention it to your piercer.  They also can use titanium jewelry on new piercings, which less people seem to have allergic reactions to.

  4. you cant be allergic to earrings it sounds like you have sensitive ears like me, you need to wear real gold and sterling silver so if you get a belly button ring thats like that too so you should be fine

  5. that's not why your allergic to earrings, it has to be the type of metal your allergic to. my dad pierced my ears his self when i was 4 months old and i have 3 in my ears, my belly button and tongue pierced. i am however allergic to gold earrings. tell the guy who pierces it your concern, and see about getting a bad thats hypo-allergenic. you shouldn't have a problem, ive had mine pierced since i was 14 and i love it!!! it doesn't hurt at all either i was really nervous and when it was over i hadn't even realized he did it ! go 4 it and if you find later u r allergic, just take it out , cant hurt to try

  6. Thats a hard one to answer. I have problems wearing any earrings other than gold or they get infected but in my belly button i can just wear sterling silver. It depends how sensitive you are to certain metals. You should ask the piercer for the best ring for someone with uber sensitive skin.
