What kind should I get. I want to pay no more than 150 dollars for it. (Since the chances are good he will return it and upgrade another 50 bucks.)

  1. The best models around that price are the Garmin nuvi 200 and 205, or the TomTom One series.  Just stay away from Magellan - terrible technical support.  Even though your husband is a tech guy, you'll never know when you'll need technical assistance or a warranty repair.

  2. Not sure on what they cost but I find Garmin to be about the best in quality, price, usability etc.
