  1. EWWWWWWWW......sorry, not attractive!

  2. Wow. The people who answered REALLY need to answer the question instead of just talking smack.

The person who pierces your lip will tell you everything you need to know. It hurts for like 6 seconds, SERIOUSLY, its not that bad. Then again, most piercings dont hurt for me. I doubt theyll ive you anything to numb the pain, you wont need it. Theyll give you a ring to put in your lip too.

As for the scar, its TINY. You cant even notice it unless you're up close, REALLY close to your face!

I think lip piercings are cool, especially on guys. Plenty of people have them. If you want it done you should DEF do it. Who gives a ***** about what anybody else says or thinks!

  3. You would also be smart to talk to a dentist first.  Lip jewelry can chip teeth.

At the very least, it will clack against your teeth as you speak and chew.  (Ever listen to an elderly person with poorly fitted false teeth?  It's about the same noise.)

  4. I've had mine for about 3 months and I still clean it about once every three days with h20 spray just in case.

It doesnt hurt long at all. I went to my boyfriends house right after I got mine done. So you know. It didnt swell or anything, just bled a tiny bit.

The only hard thing is eating, i'd bite down on the bar.

Lip piercings dont really have much pain at all.

No. they didnt put freeze gel on for me. But they did give me mouth wash right before they pierced me, to get rid of germs. And right after they pierced me and put the jewelry in they made me gargle mouth wash again.

Lip jewelry? They give you jewelry when they pierce you. And you have to keep that in for a month, unless you want to increase chances of infection.

  5. Why do you want to do that? It's unattractive, the fad is so last year, it's painful, and it leaves a scar when you eventually remove it (and you will.)

If you're trying to be "different", then do something that not every teen has!

  6. 1.) To clean the piercing you should buy some sea salt (available in all good health food stores) and do sea salt soaks. Basically this is cleaning your lip with WARM salty water. Use a q-tip to clean the lymph off of the bar. You will need to clean it 2x a day for the total healing period. To prevent infection you shouldnt engage in kissing/oral acts for six weeks (other wise  you can have bacteria passed into your piercing) and you should also rinse out your mouth with non alcohol mouthwash after smoking etc. Oh and do not touch with dirty hands!

2.) It really does depend but as a rough guide- about a week. Thats not to say that it will be healed, it should just hurt considerably less. But every one reacts differently, so i cannot tell you when you'll stop feeling the pain for certain.

3.) Yes, it is true that SOME places freeze your lip. Some places will offer this service, others will not. To be honest, you really shouldnt get your lip numbed because these gels have been known to prolong healing time, and other problems seem to arise too. A lip piercing barely hurts though. About a 2 on a 1-10 scale, so really theres no need for the numbing.

4.) Well, theres such a huge variety of jewellery to put in a lip piercing. Some places will offer you gemmed labret bars, plain labret bars, fancy spikes to go on the end of the labret...some will offer bcrs (ball closure rings) or circular barbells...but initially the very best jewellery is just a labret bar. Although places will offer to pierce with a ring, this isn't ideal at all. This is because a ring tends to bend the hole, not allowing the hole to heal straight as it should. Also, because of the nature of bcrs, lymph can get dragged into the hole really easily. When you sleep it tends to rotate. Dragging lymph into a fresh piercing is painful not to mention problematic- im sure you dont want a ripped piercing. And sometimes the rings arnt quite big enough so they dont allow room for swelling. So again, bcr is your best bet.

Anyway, hope that helped, and sorry it was so long! Good luck =)
