  1. Well you do get a local anesthetic. It's done in the belly button. It takes about a week to heal. There is in fact discomfort. It is stitches. But they give you pain killers for that. I've been "fixed" for 9 years already and it's so worth it. Good luck! :)

  2. uhhhhhhh

  3. A tubal ligation is done laprascopically.  It's outpatient surgery, done under a general anesthesia. The doctor operates through two TINY incisions (sometimes just one) in your lower abdomen. You should be able to go home within a few hours of coming out of surgery, barring complications. (Which are rare.)

You would be sore and tired for a few days, but recovery is usually quick. Talk to your doctor if you have more questions.

  4. I had it done 8 years ago. It was a simple tube tying. It was after my 4th child came. They gave me drugs to knock me out and when  I woke up, it was all over. I don't have any scares around my belly button. I didn't really have any pain either. ASk you doctor anything and everything. He/she will answer all your questions. Take someone with you when you have it done. You might not be all there afterwards and driving should be done by someone else.

Edited: I have my period every month. I have skipped a few months but I am more on time for 28 day cycle.
