Question:

I want to get one of those baby seats for a bicycle. Are they easy to "install"?

I just need to know how safe they are and if I'd manage to set it up easily enough....

I'm really good at figuring things out as a rule, but I don't want my son hurt.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks. :)

  1. Buy it from a good bike shop and they can do it for you.

  2. you should just have to take the back wheel off.

  3. The boys at Halfords will talk you through it.

  4. no hahahaha

  5. Make sure it is installed well - probably worth a few dollars for the local shop to do it.  Have them show you how it is done and what bolts to check the tightness of because it might get loose.

When I had my daughter on mine my big issues were

       - where the center of gravity was - riding up steep hills was a concern since if I wasn't on the bike she was pulling heavily back

       - having a spotter with you - my daughter would fall asleep and start to dangle off the bike.  You don't want a hand or foot caught up in the spokes.

It is a great way to show them the countryside and get great exercise.
