  1. Moors and Fantails are from the same family of fish, so they will get along fine. Just don't crowd the tank with too many fish and they will be happy.

(Make sure you clean the water on a regular basis by doing partial water changes to maintain a healthy balance of minerals in the tank. If you use a tank vacuum (a siphon type thing that you can get from aquarium stores) it will remove the waste from the tank without harming the balance.

It is also advisable to check the pH levels every time you change the water.)

    Good luck :)

  2. You heard wrong, they eat algae,if one dies they will pick at it.Yes they should get a long.Do a lot of water changes.

  3. All goldfish generally get along with each other.

  4. goldfish of all different speciemens get along but you might want to keep a nother tank handy as ive heard the same thing about them fighting so good luck.

p.s i have two fantails they are beatiful fish to keep.

  5. yes, they will get along.....just add live plants....three very important reasons:

first, plants absorb ammonia and nitrates as food

second, plants provide areas for fish to relax..out of the direct line of sight of others

...third, plants also release CO2 that nourishes the aerobic bacteria growing in the filter

.....as you already know, goldfish produce a lot of ammonia...the plants will be very helpful in keeping the tank water in balance

...25%-30% water changes 5 to 10 days apart also are important in keeping goldfish

...the smaller tank with more goldfish requires changes more often than larger tanks with liveplants, but every tank whatever size, will need these routine water changes

....small tanks are prone to rapid ammonia build ups (spikes) whcih are 'buffered' by live plants

  6. These are both fancy goldfish, just different body morphs.

They should be fine together. You will need to watch the fan tail though as the moor with its puffy eyes will be more delicate.

The general rule for stocking fancies is bubble eyed (like moors and celestials) with other bubble eyes and regular eyed with others with regular eyes. They don't eat each other, but by nature are quite boiserous.

How large is your tank? Goldfish need (surprisingly) large housing. For 2 fancies you need at least 30-40 US gallons as both are capable of growing to 8" excluding their tails. And both are hugely messy animals needing an excellent filter, or two, fully cycled of course. As they are fancies they can't have a very strong current however.

FYI live plants in a goldfish tank will get eaten.
