  1. there is a hudge difference...

sunblock /sun screen= protects from the sun and burning depending on the strengh of the spf it can prevent a tan too

sun tan lotion = other wise tanning lotion has vitamins and mosturizers that help tan healthy most with no spf so its easy to burn and some have different affects like tingle but that is used mostly indoors

you can get banna boat spf 8 and tan for about 30 mintures a day outside unless your very pale then start with 15 than apply a stronger spf before you go out again

  2. A tan IS a burn, a lesser one.  To tan your skin you have to burn it.  Sun blocks prevent your skin being burned.  I come from Queensland, Australia, the skin-cancer capital of the world.  We wear sun-blocks, hats, cover up, and white is fashionable!  The only safe tans are fake tans, and there are plenty of good product on the market.
