Question:

I want to get the same (small) tattoo as my favourite musician. Does it make me a copycat?

Björk is my absolute favourite musician! She's eccentric and amazing.

She has a small star tattoo behind her ear, and I'd like to get one to match for my 18th birthday. It's subtle and can't be seen easily.

**I just want to know if this would be considered being a copycat, or if it would be a neat symbol of how much I adore her.**

Thanks!

p.s. please don't bash björk, and if you don't like tattoos, don't answer. i already have a septum ring, i'm on a roll.

  1. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery" - or so they say.

Bottom line - you're still copying her.

  2. in my opinion a tattoo is an individual statement and expiration. if i saw any one with mine id spit it. i think it is being a copy cat but at the end of the day if its what you want get it. but if its because you like a singer why not find something else that tributes them such as a line from a song? I'm sure you could find something. good luck.

  3. honey in the grand scheme of things there are billions of people in the world.

not everyone who you encounter, if any, will know that someone else has that tattoo.

there are tons of people who have the same tattoo or something almost exactly like someone else

shoot i saw 2 ppl on here post a pic of a butterfly i almost got on my foot

someone else posted a pic of a dove and the same day a friend told me she wanted a dove done and sent me the same pic...

there is a reason why there is a song called "it's a small world" out there lol

just do it. rock it as it will be yours! it will just mean to you that you adore her and i'm sure she would appreciate knowing she influenced you in a perminant  way

  4. It would be a total copy-cat. But if you love her, who cares? Only another mad Bjork fan is going to pick up on the significance, and they would probably think it was awesome rather than a cheat.

    Go for it! :)

  5. would be a copycat.

    sorry to say it.

  6. I don't think it would be a copy-cat. Rather a significant symbol of someone you admire. I've considered getting the same tattoo that my tattoo artist has. It's a crafty symbol of intertwined letters. He has it on his hand. Looking at it one way, you can read 'love' and the other way you see 'hate'. It's really bad. I asked him if he would be offended if I asked him to give me the same tattoo. And he said no. I've been going to him for 7 years for all of my body art. Many people get tattoos in rememberance of loved ones that have passed on. That's similar. Not to mention, all tattoos should be something important to you. If she has played a role in your life that you appreciate, then feel free to express that. That is what body art is all about, expressing yourself. :)
