I'm not thinking about distributing movies just yet but I would like to enter in some competions and film festevals so it doesn't have to be top of the line just something less than $300 a piece. I'm willing to buy them used.

  1. For $300 a piece you can't get a good quality camcorders. I suggest that you use the budget to rent them.

  2. If you want some general information on choosing a Camcorder take a look at the article “Choosing A Camcorder” at http://www.ClickDigitalProducts.com/arti... you can also register for a free copy of VideoMaker magazine from this same web page which you might also find useful.

  3. wow 3 cameras?? you need to learn your craft first. enroll at a community college for media courses. movie shooting involves just 1 camera.  and because of the way movies are financed, that is usually rented or leased for the duration of the shoot only. if you have a really big "production number" then you bring in a videographer or two to get additional coverage.

you might get a personal video camera to so as to practice converting your ideas to tape. it does not need to be industrial grade. also a good computer editing program will be essential, but learn to use windows movie maker first.
