The dog is a 4 year old red nosed pitbull. He is very friendly. I can't keep him any more. He has never mated with any other dog and he does not have updated vaccination records or documentation of any kind.

  1. You can always contact the Humane Society in your area, or check for a nearby rescue league.  Rescue Leagues always help when they can, as they don't put down on an animal unless it's absolutely crucial.  They also prescreen the potential people before adopting an animal out.

    Good luck  :)

  2.   I googled Pit Bull rescue Her'es the link

    http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=na...

I hope you aren't in Columbus, OH. This city kills them at the local Shelter.  You must get him to a Pitt Bull Rescue. Some ask that you foster him until space becomes available.

People will call saying they lost theirs. I had one person call me 3 times each with a different color lost Pit.....they did not get Sweetie!

Some make up reasons to get Pitt Bulls to use to fight or for bait for fighting dogs.

I found a little lost female Pitt Bull. She was the sweetest dog I'd had in a very long time.  I'd forgotten how cuddly a dog can be.

I found her a very nice home. They named her Baby. I had called her Sweetie.

She and my dog were complete opposites or I would have kept her.

  3. if you take him to the pound i l promise you, youll regret it they end up putting it to sleep and you will feel bad just give it away dont put it in the pound please he deserves to live!

  4. You must give him to a Pitt Bull Rescue. Some ask that you foster him until space becomes available.

  5. First of all if your dog in not neutered do that first! As you probably already know shelters and rescue groups are already full of pit bulls and there is no reason you should be adding to the population of unwanted pits.  Also, if you attempt to find a home for an intact dog you are much more likely to get people who are not honest in order to use your dog for illegitimate reasons.  Many people will want to purchase or "adopt" an intact dog just for breeding or to attempt to fight him.  I have been running a pit bull rescue group for almost 10 years now and you wouldn't believe the kinds of lies people will even tell me to try to get a dog.  Without at least 2 home visits, specific requirements and follow up contact you may not ever know what happens to your dog.  When you got your dog you probably never planned to have to find him a new home and what will happen if the people you give him to find themselves in the same situation.  Before you do try to run and add or otherwise go into your local shelter and find out their policies on owner surrender dogs, also do research and contact any local rescue groups... even if they cannot take him they can probably put him on a waiting list or list him for you on their adoption sites.

Good Luck to both you and your dog.

  6. If pitbulls are baned were you live dont take them to a shelter they will put it down.

  7. Contact a local rescue society and they will place the dog in a nice and loving home.  They screen all potential adoptive homes to make sure your dog is treated nicely.

  8. If you find the home for him yourself, ask for references. Check them out. Go to their home and see the living conditions they have.

You can call rescues but a lot of rescues are full for pitbulls. They are in my area, but hopefully not where you live.
