I don't to replace the cabinets all together. Can I just replace the doors or something. What is the cheapest way to give the kitchen a new look. I would like to do it myself. Any websites you can send me too?

You can buy new doors at any home center. Just hope you have standard size cabinets to do it cheap. If you don't then you may need to have some doors custom made.

I would probably do this..

I would strip off the stain or paint that is currently there - and see what you have underneath.  If the wood is in good condition, pick out a different stain or different color paint.  

You can add different hardware, handles and hinges and that would make a difference too.  Little things like that can make a big difference.

Depending on the finish on your cabinet doors, you could sand them and either stain them - if they are wood, or paint them in nice contrasting colors.  Add some new hardware and they will look like new.

If you have grooved cabinets, you can fill in the grooves with some wood putty, sand them down smoothe and then paint them - this will give a more contemporary flat look at a fraction of the cost of new doors.

Alternatively, if you have flat finished doors, you can buy thin wooden dowel rods from any home improvement or lumber store, cut them to size for the pattern of your choice and brad nail them onto your existing, sanded doors.  Cover the brad nails with a little wood putty to conceal the nails, sand the dowels and paint....  cheap and painless....

You can refinish the doors - take them off to work on them - if they have grooves in them (to make them look like 'panels') these can be infilled, whilst you are about it. You could use something like smooth Hammerite for a tough finish.
