  1. The Salvation Army is one of the most efficient and trusted charities in the U.S. Efficient means that nearly every penny of your donation goes to the people in need. Plus they help the neediest people in your own community.

  2. hello i have a post up on here and it explains everything.if you want to know more then please email me on woogya@bigpond.com.thanks

  3. that's nice.. but i tell you, giving your self is the best..

  4. My non profit organization. The program provides a safe recreation place for children 6-12 years old. These children come from low income families and don't even have a park within walking distance. My organization is the only source of recreation for these children. The children also get help with homework because I noticed a lot of them were failing simply because they were not doing their homework. After doing some research I found that most of the children were not doing their homework because no one at home was able to help them. I am hoping that this program will be a preventative measure to end this cycle in this neighborhood. I also take the children on field trips to get them out of their neighborhood. Most of those kids would never see a movie theater, ice skating rink, aquarium, etc. if it were not for this program. Donations from generous people help to keep this program running.

  5. Help a child in need. Any organization that truly helps children hear are just a few

  7. Breast Cancer Research, The Humane Society, Make-a-Wish Foundation, St.Jude Childrens Hospital

    It's nice to see someone wanting to help!! : )

  8. Check out Charity Navigator (link below) - it's a group that looks at the IRS form 990 for most major nonprofit organizations and analyzes a number of key factors that relate to the impact of donations, such as:

    *  % of money spent on overhead (administration, fundraising) versus spent on the charity goal (research or helping a specific group)

    * salaries of key employee(s)

    * relationships to other organizations

    * previous fundraising results

    * etc.

    they also rate individual charites, both as a composite and as on individual criteria.  You can also browse their lists, which might help you find an organization you might otherwise have overlooked.
