I think it really depends on where your heart is.  What is it that makes your mind spin, your heart sink and can play havoc on your tear ducts??

You're right, there are so many causes out there.  So think about what it is you want to support.

Children (world vision, hunger, hospitals, illnesses, abused, lost limbs, orphaned, foster homes)

Animals (abused, caught in an disaster like an oil spill)

Nature (endangered species, rain forest, nautral disasters)

People (diseases such as aids or cancer or diabetes, women shelters, victims of fire or burns)

Emergency Services (FIre fighters, police, hospitals, military)

Local (library, schools lunch programs, girl guides/scouts, food bank)

I hope you find the cause that affects you the most.  I have been a volunteer for years, and I find it to be one of the most fullfilling and rewarding things you can donate your time and money to.

Thats a hard question to answer, almost a matter of opinion. Just choose the one that touches you the most. I use http://www.microgiving.com because they have so many causes I can spread my donation around and then watch the progress.

The most important part of any type of charitable giving is to learn how much of your gift goes to the charity and how much actually gets out into the field.  Some charities keep a very small amount for administration costs and other keep the majority of the gift.  I have found Heifer.org. This organization is wonderful and very unique for countries all around the world. They send livestock, farming implements and seeds and support to most third-world countries.  The best thing is that you can give as little as $10 and take a "share" in an animal and know that the animal is on its way to wherever you choose.  The kids in our after-school program are all participating in this because it gives them something real to see that they did instead of just sending money.  The site listed below has all sorts of information that you can look at.  Great way to get into the

you could start an online charity school... information is the only resource that grows with use... we seam to hoard it closest of all... we'd help with the school if you'd like...

there are a lot but proboubly you could do smth for children with special needs or all those who suffer from hunger or for those who have suffered from the consiquences of war...
