  1. Answer number one is absolutely correct.  Limit tutoring to your native language.  Your English is still limited and both you and your students would be frustrated.   Answerer number two is just plain wrong.  Teaching is ALL ABOUT TRANSFERRING INFORMATION.  Touchy- feely "relationships" are for church and therapists.

  2. Think this out.

What could you do to help me learn?

I can read and understand what I read so I can learn anything I need to learn by reading.

Teaching is more about relationships and encouragement than it is actual transferring information from one person to another.  That is why homeschooling is successful.  Parents are wonderful encouragers and role models.

  3. I suggest that you limit your tutoring to your native tongue; in order to give online  help with any academic subject, your writing must be absolutely clear, and your writing in English needs improvement.

  4. It sounds like you're from India?  Many of the posters on this board are from the US, Canada, Britain, and Australia.  You may have more luck on an Indian board.

Midwest Maven - I think you misunderstood Janis.  As both a classroom teacher and a homeschool mom, I second her statement about teaching having to do with relationship.  If your students have no connection with you, why should they listen to what you have to say?  She's not saying that you have to have an intimate friendship or anything, but a good student-teacher relationship will go a long way.
