  1. Definintely bleach it and use jerome russells peroxide i had black hair then used that and it went a very nice blonde and definitely not ginger lol it was only £4 its really good then get the low light when youve done that it will look nice hun cya x*x

  2. Your hairdresser is right. Going from dark brown to blonde straight away can result in damaging your hair a lot, a gingery orange colour and it can also be very painful (bleach sometimes gives you a burning sensation). You need to get a lot of highlights gradually in order to get the best colour in your hair, as it will need constant bleaching to get it up to the right shade.

  3. hi im the same i have dark brown hair and have my hair blonde, i pre lighten my hair a product you can get from superdrugs which needs to be left on for about an hour, then i buy a light blonde to go over the top, hope that helps always have your hair trimmed before use as the ends do break off, then i have a product i bought from avon its a anti brass that takes all the brass ginger pigments out of your hair if you still have any left that is, hope it works it does for me, cheers connie

  4. be careful using any color with ash, they can & will turn your hair a green tint. If I were you I would start out coloring it a light brown & add blonde highlights, also use a really good color shampoo like Pantene for color treated hair (Pantene for blondes is great) and then if you decide to go light try a light blonde color. It should look great!!! Good Luck!!! :)

  5. Dont do it yourself! Just trust your hairdresser with the highlights, my friend did the same thing the 3 months goes really quick

Any Redken treatment is great =]

  6. If you do a full head colour, you will have to have your roots touched up every 6 weeks and although this doesn't sound too bad, it does become a pain.  You would be better off having highlights in the colour you want.  This way your hair won't get so damaged & your roots won't show half as much as if you had a full head colour.
