I want to go on a cruise for spring break...?

I am from new england, so would prob leave from Fl. Whats the best cruises for partying? A group of about 8 college students would be going. Also, a couple of us are under 21. What would be the situation for drinking and what not? I hear the best way to go for liquor is to sneak it on from the islands or whatever. dont wanna go somewhere with lots of families, hopefully many college students, spring break is early march . What do you all suggest?

Some cruise lines won't book people under 21 without a parent or guardian.  Also, there is a maximum amount of people per cabin.  Drinking under 21 might not be a problem while ashore in the Caribbean,  would be tough in the bars on board.  

Most cruise lines are aimed for either families or adults.  Royal Caribbean and Carnival are a bit more younger adult oriented, I think.  You probably need the help of a travel agent.

do your research BEFORE you book a cruise. look for hidden costs. it can be a real bummer if you underestimate the costs. you have to be really careful with drinking ages because the cruise lines can actually send you home if you are under age & caught drinking. at least they say that they can do so. you need to look at specific cruise lines & read their fine print.

Here's some info that you really need to know - at least 1 passenger in a cabin must be 25 years old!  Additionally, unlike many land-based destinations, cruise lines will not put up with any "out-of-line" behavior.

As far as prices are concerned, I just came off a cruise two weeks ago - I can tell you that the latest prices for drinks are in the $4.50 (beer) to $10 (martini) range. Plus there is an automatic 15% gratuity placed on top of that. Going on a cruise and drinking "cheap" do not mix.

However, if you're looking for a cruise that caters to your age group, and have a few 25 year-old friends going with you - don't even think twice - go directly to Carnival.

As an alternative, let me recommend an all-inclusive (that's hotel, drinks, tips, activities, taxes) in Punta Cana, D.R. The resorts in Punta Cana offer the best rates in the Caribbean.   Cancun is also one of the top spring break destinations. The age requirement there is 21.  Remember though,  starting 1/9/07 you're going to need a passport to travel outside the country.
