  1. Yes you can do a short cruise, most likely in an inside cabin, in July for under $500.  Check out this link to Royal Caribbean 3, 4, and 5 night cruises:

Then check out these cruises on Carnival:

  2. You could probably get a baja cruise 3 day out of LA or 3 day bahamas out of Flordia

  3. I'd search on-line and also try a local travel agent.

  4. Depends on how long the cruise is, the destination (ie. europe vs. caribbean, etc), the cruise line.  Generally, you can get a pretty good deal if it's a last minute cruise.

I booked an 11-day cruise in December for the Caribbean (St. Maarten, Martinique, Half Moon Cay [private island in the bahamas] - two adults for about $1800 taxes in.

Just remember that excursions, alcohol, port fees, travel to and from the ship are not included in the fare.

Hope that helps! have a blast!

  5. Sure, a short one.

Even in July, $500 per person for a 3- or 4-night cruise on RCI or Carnival out of Miami should be do-able.

Oh, but keep in mind that cruise prices are quoted per person, not per room. And there are an assortment of taxes, gratuities, and other things that will add to your total cost.  There's a good explanation of cruise prices here:

Hope it works out for you.
