  1. You don't need a passport when traveling by "LAND or SEA" (TILL JUNE 2009) You need a government issued photo ID such as a driver's license and birth certificate. You need a passport when traveling by AIR

  2. If you are a US citizen and if you are driving you can cross the border into Canada with your government issued photo ID such as your driver's license and your birth certificate to prove country of birth.  You will also need fishing licenses to fish in Canada, the cost of which will vary depending on the type of fish and the province.

  3. Yes you now need a passport to get there plus does Canada allow fishing without a Canada  fishing license?  You might need that too.  At the border they will ask why you are coming to Canada.  You might need the fishing license before going to Canada.

  4. If you're an American citizen and traveling by car, no you don't.

You don't need a passport to get into Canada by air either, but you will need one to get back into the US.

Canada has no plans to require American citizens to need a passport to enter Canada. It is the American gov't that is requiring all people to need one to get into the US.

If you don't have one, until June 2009, you can do what many people are doing. Flying into Canada and then crossing back into the US by land and flying home out of Seattle.

  5. yes and proper fishing licence
