  1. Royal Caribbean has extremely strict pricing and discounting policies.  You will get the same price directly from the line as you will from a travel agent.

Be VERY wary of agents or sites that advertise prices below Royal Caribbean's advertised rates.  Agents may have group space that is cheaper than the line's advertised rates but there are restrictions on how they can advertise them.

Agents who violate Royal Caribbean's pricing polices can loose their ability to sell Royal Caribbean and it could cost their guests when they check in for their cruise.

  3. I would call Royal Caribbean direct.  I always cruise with Carnival, and I have a PVP there who I always deal with.  He always gets me a better deal than any travel agent has been able to quote.  I have a friend who cruises with RCCL at least five or six times a year, and he always books his cruises direct while on the ship.  He says this is where he gets the best deal.

  4. Your price will more than likely be the same or less with an agency, especially if they have group space already held well in advance with a negotiated rate or amenities.  Royal Caribbean overwhelmingly recommends the use of a travel agent to book their cruises.  You would be best served developing a relationship with a local agency.

  5. We just did an Adventure of the Seas cruise in May this year.  You do not need an agent, just go online to RC's web site and everything you need to book and make payments is right there.

The prices for the cruise on the Adventure, which sails out of Puerto Rico, will vary by week.  So when you select the ship look at the prices for all of its sails as they will be different by sometimes $200 or $300 each week.  We booked one of  the cheapest weeks for this cruise and if you look at the list of prices you will see other times when the cruise price is really low.

Now after you decide what date you want you can book yourself or have an agent do it for you.  The agent will not charge a fee for the cruise booking since the agent gets paid by the cruise line, but may charge a fee to book your air fare.  Many agents and web sites (except airline sites) charge a $10 fee for airline tickets.  So book those yourself also right online.
