I want to go online with my PS3.

Question

The Ps3 is located upstairs while the Computer and internet is in the basement. I have a broadband wireless router called "Linksys". Its hooked up to the internet in my basement. I went to network connections on the PS3 and tried to set it up. But the amount information needed to enter confused the h**l out of me. I entered automatic for every option it gave. It said it could not retrieve a IP address at the end of the setup. What am I doing wrong?

check the security key on ure router plus u may have a diferent security type wep etc... also make sure internet connection is enabled on the ps3 also google the problem for better ideas

i have westell maybe its the ps3 i use the internt everyday

I had to put in my WEP pass key after that everything hook up fine in order to get your WEP pass word you would probably have to call your provider.  I called mine and they guided me through steps to find out what it was. after that it signed on

check security settings if u have wep/wpa etc.. put ur password
