  1. dont feel embaressed. go for a run if you want to. you shouldn't worry about what other people think. for all you know they could be thinking.. "good for her, a teenager trying to get in shape.. dont see that often."

  2. ONE if you get up early, chances are there wont be a lot of people running anyway

TWO you say your worried about your image, but everyone else is so worried about themselves, they wont be focused on you

THREE i have the same issue, so instead of running in public i go running in my backyard or in the woods, so you can always find somewhere else where barely anyone can see you

FOUR you can always take a friend, a parent, or a sibling with you to make it less uncomfortable

FIVE take an ipod or cd player or whatever you have. youll be so busy jammin you wont even be worried about your looks hahaha

SIX you can always go wayyy early or wayyy late because it will be so dark no one can even see you

    i hope i was some help =]

have fun runninggg  and remember, its for a good cause. youd rather be running than being a bum at home and people will think thats awesomee

  3. You need to get over this feeling young lady. No one cares what you look like will you are out running, they may think how great it is that you are taking up running at an early age. Stay active and have fun, good luck.

  4. I'd say get an awesome sports bra, a well fitting comfortable outfit, your Ipod so you can rock out, and go for it. All of the people out running are so busy being in their own little worlds that they won't be judging you. You are out there taking care of your health! That's awesome! And if someone has a comment, just crank up your headphones and ignore them!

  5. you have absolutely nothing to be emabarresed about. exercizing is exercizing and you should be able to do it comfortably. if you feel insecure, try (as you said) taking a couple walking trips. once you feels more comfy, you should try running. its great that some teens actually want to exercize. good job!

  6. Don't worry about what other people think, if it bothers you that much just take your MP3 with you and drag a friend along, I've seen quite a few people that jog in pairs. If you want to go out early there isn't gonna be many people around at all, i like to go for a run early.

When i started running me and my bro got passed by a 70 yr old doing 3 times the speed we were, but you build the speed up the more you do it.

  7. I'm 15 too and I know exactly how you feel.

I have trouble staying motivated to run when I'm alone, so I've got a friend who I go with now.

As for the other runners, just don't get in their way and do you really think they won't appreciate what you're doing? I mean at least you're taking care of your body.

Maybe if you don't want to look too sporty to begin, you could try an outfit which isn't matching - just a sports top and shorts.

I'm kinda shy too, hate being 15. Those teenage years as     they say...

  8. maybe you could take a bus somewere you dont know people

or just go early like 5:30  6:00 am

then you probly wont see people you know to get embarest

    good luck

  9. try not to be so insecure! i used to be the same way about going to the gym but then i realized that pretty much everyone looks disgusting when their working out so dont worry about it!! Alos, if it's that early in the morning no ones even awake yet!!!

  10. Just get out there and do it. Other people exercising will commend you for making the effort. Feel proud.

  11. Just forget it. Don't let it get to you. They're not looking at you, so you don't have to look (or think) about them. Do what you want to do!

Don't let something hold you back because you feel embarrassed.

  12. When you are running are you examining and judging the condition and apparel of other runners?

Probably not.  Neither is it likely that they are.

I know I'm too busy keeping my breathing regulated and paying attention to the path to be looking at other people.

So just pretend it's me that you notice running in your park.  I won't look up because I don't want to fall in a pothole.

  13. Run on a treadmill?

  14. Can you ask a friend to go with you?  Or go early in the morning when no-one's around.

  15. I use to have the same problem but one day I just did it. I thought to myself "What would they say to me?" They are not going to say "Hey, you're too fat stop running!" So, my advice would be to just do it!

  16. hey if any one even says anything its because there not out there trying and they are jelouse of the courage you have and i know thats what adults always say but im 15 too and i think its great that you want to do something.... also btw when i see someone out running no matter what they look like i think good for them because running is harder than it looks and your ou there doing something.... and another thing no one looks that great when they run anyways and other runners know that and if they see you out there trying im sure they will be amazed! : ) good luck i hope you pick it up i love running its like an escape from the world!

  17. Just do it! You will feel better.

You may even be surprised at all the other flabby floppers running along with you.

Everyone is not lean and buffed.

  18. I'm sorry I do not understand your problem.  Just go jogging at the park or in your neighborhood.  It's not a big deal.  A lot of teens do this.

  19. why be emarrassed.  You should feel proud that your out being active and healthy.  Go out and get your run on!

  20. If you really want to run... Than just do it. You shouldn't care what other people think. You should be running for you... Not for them!

Just put on some cute shorts, and a T. Charge up your IPOD and forget about everyone else and their stupid opinions.

  21. lol dont worry, i feel the same in the gym when some huge guy finishes up after benching 70kilos and i take off 50 and start my set lol

you gotta start somewhere, anyone who laughs at you doesnt know **** all about training, if they did they'd know that its a learning curve, you gotta start small, maybe one day you'll be one of those "proper runners"

and anyway chances are they're wearing tight lycra shorts so they're in no position to laugh at you. Just put some music on a drift away

    *x*DaViEs*x*

  22. for get what people think just go or ask a friend to go

maby get up ely so no 1 see ya

  23. As long as there are "proper" runners going about then you should be ok... put some shades on to hide behind and get your MP3 on.. you'll blend right in. The day after you can lose the shades. The first step is always the tentative one .. get out there and enjoy yourself and btw ... well done on doing something +ive

  24. hiya love.

    Dont worry bouts it!

If they think anything it will be aww bless her loosing weight that way having a litle jog and they will be proud of you.You doing that is more than some people are doing! maybe try taking an mp3 and just jog on like you are in your own little world where no-one is there and it will be fine =)

    x*x

  25. do it at night or when it's dark or early in the morning =]

  26. If you wan't to than you should. NEVER let other people control the way you live your life. Just have fun with it, and be yourself.

  27. wear baggy sweat paints?

  28. Hah, don't worry, it doesn't sound silly. I'm like you as well. But when you think about it, do you find it weird when you see someone jogging? I know I don't. No one's going to pay you more attention than you would pay them, it's fine. Just do it=]

  29. Get over your embarrassment.  Just think of each day of exercise as being something that is healthy for you and one day closer to the fitness goal you have for yourself.  Whenever I see someone heavy or older who can't get around very well running or walking day after day, I smile to myself and say "good for them".  I feel proud of them that they are focused on doing something good for themselves and not worried about how they look to anyone else.

  30. I was to embarrased to exersize in front of people for 4 years because of the sweat and the jiggleing fat but then one day I went to the gym and noticed that everybody there was sweating and a bit over weight.. dont worry about it!! Your health and happyness is more important then what a stranger thinks of you... also people would have no right to critisize you, its better to be chubby and doing something about it then being chubby and doing nothing about it!!

    Good luck

  31. if people are out that early in the morning, they'll probably be thinking

'why cant i be that productive?!'  ;)

think postive sweetie and the rest will follow...
