I want to go swimming tomorrow but I'm on my period. What do I do?

btw, i don't wear tampons...I wear pads. so if i just went swimming in a tank top and shorts...while wearing a pad...would that be okay or..not? What do you suggest? should i just not go?

When I had my period, I went swimming with my swim suit... i wore a dark one tho and still ha no prob

try to but shorts that match the color of your bathing suit and besides in water blood barely comes out anyway if you wear shorts no one will notice you wont even need the tank top

well if you wear pads and jump in a pool people will definitely know that your on your period.. try tampons because they are comfortable..i will never go back to pads.. with a tampon you dont even feel as if your on your period.. if your not going to wear tampons then dont go in the water because it wont work and you'll be embarassed ;)

actually.i started wearing tampons because i really wanted to go the pool one day.but if you dont want to i would suggest going after you're off because i don't think wearing a pad will help much

If you're going to a private pool or lake, do whatever you want. I would suggest that if you wear shorts, make sure that they're tight around you legs so that your pad won't float to the top when it become full of water and the adhesive no longer sticks.

If you're going to a public facility, that's a whole different story. I would suggest that you either wear a tampon or menstrual cup, or stay out of the pool. Your period is made up of blood and other tissues that your body no longer requires. That is called HUMAN BODY WASTE. It is a bio-hazard and a contaminate. Also, it is illegal to intentionally contaminate a public facility.
