I want to go to AMDA my parents want me togo to NYU. Advice?

AMDA (American Musical & Dramatic Academy) Is where i have always wanted to go for my dramatic education. I want to act in Theatre it's my passion what I want my life to be about. My parents want me to go to NYU (New York University) for a degree. Do I do what I want NOW and risk my education and my parents financial backing, or do I do what my parents want and risk my dreams slipping away forever?

You can always go back to college. If you are planning to apply for financial aid, you are going to have the school loan in your name anyway - it will be your debt, not your parents. They may help out, but it will be your responsibility no matter what school you choose. FOLLOW YOUR HEART - it never fails you!

Do what you want. I know how hard it is to go against your parents' wishes especially when they are paying for everything. I made that mistake. I majored in something my parents wanted me to even though I hated the school and the major. And now, I'm a year away from graduating and I hated every minute of every class that I went to. If you think you're going to be miserable at NYC, don't go. Follow your dreams.

I understand it is hard for you to choose what to do. All you need to do right now is focus on what you think will help the most. Follow your heart and dreams because it is your life :).
