Unless you are using frequent flyer miles, you will usually get a better deal if you book your flight and lodging together.

I am from Mexico, Cancun is ok and it is not the same since it became ....commercial, now everybody can go for great prices so it stopped of being special...

Like someone mentioned, expedia has some really good packages! We bought our Florida package on the website and we plan to buy our Mexico package on there as well.
