I know that I need a passport and I have been looking online for flights and hotels and such. I want to stay someplace that is not just for tourist, someplace like Limerick. My mother is going with me and we are going for a week. Does anybody have any helpful advice?

  1. take me with you

  2. Take plenty of money and an umbrella.

  3. Carpathea, you must head for Kilkenny, visit the jail and all the "old" buildings, Also places like Waterford, fomous for its crystal, is not far away. There is literally dozens of small, quaint. villiages all within a half hours drive of Kilkenny.

They are not touristy, and some of the B&Bs are just delightful, the pub scene is usually old world and quiet, and the pub grub is plentifull.

O, and there are buses to all towns, and they seem to run on time.

  4. Head over to Lonely Planet, and read more about it.  You can also pick up some good books at a local book store (Borders or Barnes and Noble).

  5. Before you go to Limerick I'd advise you to type Limerick and murder into a search engine!

  6. Limerick sounds like an interesting idea - a smaller city with lots to see and a few out of town castles etc too.

A week might be a bit long for one base but a bit short for two bases - for example Kilkenny was suggested.  Get a bus from Limerick.

You can also go to Killarney from Limerick - though now you're getting a bit touristy!

    Where are you travelling from?
