  1. Venice, Siena, Naples, Rome, -- it all depends on what kind of things youre into.. italy is very very diverse..

  2. I have never been to Italy and would love to go. I think Sorrento or lake Gardia would be nice romantic places. I have heard good and bad about venice. i would head for sorrento. have a good time.

  3. Venice truly beautiful and absolutly unique. Also very romantic. Must see.

  4. If you go to Italy.. 4 days isn't enough time.. Since you are spending the money on the airfare (i assume).. you might as well stay for an extra 3 days.  Rome is a must!

  5. Go to Milan.  If it's not to your liking the riviera is fairly close.

  6. Florence definitely  - and any time of year - Venice in March/April is nice, not too cold and not smelly but it is smelly in height of summer and baltic in winter.  To get to Florence, fly to Pisa very cheaply and take 30 min direct train from inside the airport main train station in  Florence. .Dont hire a car - the Italians drive quite manic.  Trains are great to get around in between cities while the bus system isn't bad - you pay for minutes on the buses, rather than miles, so you can hop on and off when you want.  a really great place - been four times.  Wanna retire there when I'm 80.

  7. florence....venice smells

  8. If you only have 4 days I would stay some where in the Veneto (sp?) region in Northren Italy.  That way you could spend a day in Venice, A day in Vicenza and a day in Verona.  The if you really wanted to you could take your 4th day and go right over the border into Austria.

  9. Rome !!!!!

Check  www.romaturismo.it  the english version !!!!

    Ciao !!!

  10. 4 days is not enough time - if you can stay for an additional three days.  My favorite city is Florence.  There are so many museums, historical churches and sights to see.  Tuscan cuisine is delicious IMHO and the restaurant and wine bar scene in Florence is great (try restaurant Cibreo for a splurge).  If you are able to stay some extra days check out nearby Siena and San Gimiano both of which are medieval and utterly romantic.  Make sure you try their wines which are also great.

  11. Venice, for romance and sightseeing it can't be beat.

  12. Rome and the Bay of Naples

  13. There are just too many great cities to visit in Italy... But I would start with Rome if you have never been to Italy before because you will more likely know or have heard of the many sights there.

The one bad thing about visiting Italy is that there are allot of pick pockets so make sure that you have a handbag that zips up and keep in front of you at all times... Tell hubby to put his wallet in his front pocket.  I have seen them bump into someone, cut the back pocket with a razor knife and take a wallet.  My wife had her passport and wallet stolen while on a train in Milan a few months back.  Be careful!  Make a copy of your drivers license and your passport and put it in your luggage.  Also, write the number(s) to report credit cards stolen down and secure in a safe place.

  14. go to venice, south italy, or florence for romance, and to rome for the rest.

  15. rome, florence, and countryside of tuscany.

  16. I went in August to Venice and to Riva del Garda on Lake Garda - Venice is brilliant but expensive (if you go check out Harry's bar) and check out Hotel Benacus up on the hillside if you go to Riva as the views are excellent.

  17. Genoa! Trust me on this

  18. Rome is the best by far.... The food, the sites to see and visit are breath taking. i highly recommend it
