i know you need 6 months on a passport if you need visa or going somewhere like america but i have a spanish passport and traveled on it with about a month until it run out. the lady at the airport in spain pointed it out but i was allowed to travel it should be the same for a uk passport but i really would check before hand just to be safe

Depends on how long you want to stay.

Check with the passport office because you have to have a certain amount of time left on your passport but not sure if its one month or longer

May depend on where you're from, but I've had friends who were not allowed to check in for their flight because their passport expired within 3 months, and they had to rebook their flight and get emergency passports. Might be different if you're not flying, but I wouldn't risk something like this on my words or anyone else on Yahoo Answers. Call the appropriate authorities.

I have checked this before for my customers (T/Agency manager) before and it is ok......the website say you should have 3/6months left but if you phone the consulate it is ok as long as your passport is valid on date of return.

Don't think so - I suspect you need three months validity on it.  Ring the Passport Office - http://www.ips.gov.uk/passport/index.asp

well you should have renewed it a couple of months ago then  but you should be OK to travel , as long as you are back before expiry.

I recently phoned the foreign office to ask this and as long as you get back B4 expiry you are fine.

If you are a U.K. citizen travelling to France you must have a VALID passport. It does not say anything, about how long the passport must still be valid, that usually only applies to citizen's of those non-EU countries which must have a Visum.

So as long you return before the passport is expired, you'll be fine.
