I want to go to Santa Elena in south venezuela from India?

Caracas airport 600 miles from Santa Elena which is the nearest international airport to go from India. I wish to participate in the peace foundation village programme as a social service for 3 months. Can any one guide me and also a friendly advice how safe it is to go and work there.

From what I know Venezuela has only one international airport and that's Maiquetia at Vargas which is about 20min from Caracas... from there you can take another plane to Santa Elena or maybe go to Caracas and catch a bus to there :)

Venezuela is dangerous but as long as you use common sense, and be careful you should be fine.
