Question:

I want to go to School in America when i'm 16..how do i go about it?

Basically, when i leave school in England i want to go to America to study there rather than college here. But im unsure how to go about it because of Visa's and everything. Im currently 15 and will soon be in my last year of school.

Any tips on how to do it will be appreciated.

  1. There is some bad advice here you need to ignore.

    Th way you have to do this is to apply to US colleges. When accepted, they send you the paperwork you need to get a student visa. You can not get a visa to sudy without this paperwork from a college to which you've been accepted.

    The hardest part is the cost for most. US schools are way more expensive than those in the UK. Expect to pay between $30,000-50,000USD for each of 4 yers for a bachelors. If you are a very top student you may get some scholarship money, but most foreign students do not.


  2. Apply for your Visa right now and hope that you'll get it by the time you go to college.

  3. i live in california, i got my passport in 3 months. so yeah apply for it. do you know what school you'd like to enroll in? when do you graduate? plus, it would also be wise to enroll in a foreign exchange program ..so you could get familiar with the u.s. and everything else.
