  1. Unfortunately, UCSF is a grad school only.  They don't offer any undergraduate programs there.

  2. Here's good and bad news for you.  First, the bad.  Most community college science courses are considered non-major level courses, which means they will not satisfy a university's degree requirements (or it's pre-med pre-req requirements).  However, there are community colleges courses that do--but never take the CC's word for it--verify it with a university.

IF UCSF requires an undergrad degree as part of its admission requirements you will have to transfer to an undergrad university to complete your degree.  Most universities require that you transfer a minimum of 30 semester hours and all of those hours must satisfy a Major's requirements.

The best news is that when you do transfer to a university, the university only wants to know what the courses, credits and grades are that you are transferring.  They do not want any high school information--so essentially, all of your high school career is wiped clean.

  3. You need to meet with a counselor and make sure you follow the IGETSE plan (the transfer plan to UC schools).  If your GPA is above 3.5 you will be admitted into any school to which you apply.

This past school year (07/08) a Los Angeles Valley College student took the GMAT and scored so astronomically high that he was admitted into med school without a BA.

The lesson is that JCs are an excellent educational option.  You need to work hard and take the right classes, and you can achieve anything!!!!
