Hi,

As an Indian you are eligible to apply to enter the UK under our Working Holiday Maker scheme for a period of up to two years, providing you are between the age of 17 and 30.

Below, I have given you a link to the official Uk government site where you can find out all about this scheme. On it, you will also find a link to the application form, and the guidlines for completing it. The application is not complicated. You do not need an agent to help you apply.Save your money for your holiday.

A word of warning.This scheme is not for those whose main reason for applying is to work. The main reason for going must be for a holiday, and you will see there is a limit to the amount of work you can do.

You are highly likeley to be questioned about this when you are interviewed by our Consul in India, and also by the immigration officer at the port/airport of entry in the UK. In the event of you being granted a visa for WHM, it cannot be extended, and it is only allowed once. Neither can it be converted into any other type of visa.

There is the possibility that a WHM visa could be converted into a work permit under our new points system for highly skilled workers.The points system requires among other things that a person has at least the equivalent of a British university degree. Evidence of past earnings over a certain level, according to country of work is also required to be eligible for transfer to work permit. Unfortunately, the Highly skilled worker is at present closed to Indian nationals.I believe this was because of a backlog due to a very large number of applicants. Our government says this is temporary, but has given no date yet as to when Indian citizens may again apply.
