Okay...so I'm going to be a freshman this year. (School starts September 3 or something like that...) I really, really want to go to boarding school...I just do. I was thinking of something like these ones:

or

My dad went to boarding school for 8th grade and that's it. But how do I get my parents to let me go? My dad would in an instant (if it weren't for the money) but my mom just can't CUT THE CORD!!! It's aggravating...but anyway, do you have any personal experience with boarding school? Did you like it? Did you not? Why?

By the way, if I do go, it'll be an all-girls school. I just want to get better grades and not worry about guys all the time...I want to restart my life and just want to get away from guys for a little bit. (I'm NOT L*****n...lmao. Not that there is anything wrong with that...but still...)

  1. I was in a boarding school last year, and it was an amazing experience. I got to be with my friends all day, I met so many new people, and the whole experience was great. A lot of crazy things happen, occasionally some embarrassing things happen. One time I was taking a shower, and I didn't know it was an inspection day (don't worry, they just check to make sure everything is going okay in the school,) and three of my teachers came in and saw me naked, showering. I was so embarrassed so I ran out of the room and later they came back in and said that if it made me feel any better that happened to three other students last month. Ha ha, it did cheer me up.

The boarding school I went to was boys and girls though, and I'd assume the ones you want to go to are all girls.

It's like a big year round vacation, except for the whole... it's school part. But it sure beats normal school. All your friends there will be really close, and there was a lot of cool events. There was an eating contest, there was tons of plays, and there was even a clothing optional day. Ha ha it was all fun. Where I was, you were allowed to bring small pets, like hamsters, gerbils, and rats. My 4 pet rats all had fun when I let the run through the boarding school (Which was strictly unaccepted) So if you have the chance, then definitely go.

About the mom issue, tell her that it's good for kids to have time away from their parents to socialize. Also, one day you will be leaving the house, you need to be used to being away. Tell her that it is for your advantage as well as hers.

Have fun, and if you do go, make sure to get to know everybody. It helps a lot, I knew everyone in the whole school.

  2. My older sister went to an all girl catholic boarding school, and she loved the experience, she grew more independent out of it. It is going to be good experience for you, good luck, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy it.

  3. if it's really what you want, get mom and dad together to get a yes or no, and have a plan ready how you can raise the money or at least part and see if they will match you dollar for dollar.  it wasn't for boarding school, but dad did that for me for one of my (failed) lab experiments.

(it was a really cool explosion though!)

  4. well i have never been to bording school but if i were you i would find a cheap school on the internet and just present it to your mom and dad thats what i did when i went to this camp this summer i found a affordable one and told my mom and dad why i wanted to go and everything hope i helped
