I want to go to college in California?

Question

Specifically around los angeles and stuff

but my grades really arent that great, except for 11th grade year they were a little above average, (average being a C average)

i want to be a photojournalist, i think. this year i will be in 12th grade.

is there a college anyone knows about around there that would be good for me to go to and wouldnt be to hard to get into

im so clueless about this stuff, when are you supposed to start applying?

I think you need higher than a C average to even get into California state schools. I think it is C average for California residents, and like a 2.45 for out of state, and if it is that low you also need an SAT score of 1550 or ACT of 36. I don't think you are eligible to go to a state school in L.A. You can attend a community college.

Ranto has it right, withoutout good grades, money would have to be no issue. The CSUs will mostly take almost anyone, but cost $30,000 per year for a very mediocre education if you are out of state. There are private colleges like Whittier and Redlands that you can get into with a C acverage, but they cost even more.

The California State Universities are not very selective.  The good news is that you can probably get in.  The bad news is that unless you are a California resident and qualify for in-state tuition, it wouldn't be worth the money.

In ca we have two college systems. The first is the more prestigious UC system, this has schools like UCLA,USC, UC Berkeley,UC Riverside etc. These schools are tough to get into high g.p.a.'s and test scores are needed, or being really in a sport. The second system is the CAL State system this is CAL state Long Beach, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Los Angeles etc. These schools are easy to get into. As long as you have at least a 2.5-2.7 you should be able to get into one of these. Look them up and see which one fits your style
