I want to go to countries no one has heard of, suggestions?

I worked in the country of Suriname for 6 months, and loved the fact that no-one knew where I was. I guess it depends on your level of education, but I didn't know where it was

(its at the top of South America) Amazing place! I've travelled alot, but Suriname TOTALLY stole my heart! I LOVE SURINAME! I'm looking for suggestions of recomended mainland countries that I've never heard of. I know there are heaps of islands but they are, as a general rule, harder to get to. And if I looked for countries in an atlas it would remove the 'where the h**l?' feeling.

Most Americans I have met have never heard of Cyprus. (It's one of the largest islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Easy to get to but no direct flights from the USA. Maybe go via Athens.

Very civilised and virtually everyone speaks English.
