I have seen alot of steakhouses by golf and meacham(Schaumburg, Illinois). I want to go out for a nice steak, maybe two-three beers with this girl I met. Are there any reasonably priced places we can go for say, less than a $100.00?

  1. I'm with Roxxy on this.  I had a prime rib at Outback last night.   Dinner, dessert to go, and a nice tip total was 30 bucks.    It was better than the steak dinner I had at Ruth Chris once, and that ran me 70 bucks (just mine was 70).

My experience, based on several thousand meals in various restaurants around  the country is that once you pass the $20 level on entree price up to about 50, the rest is all about ambiance and prestige, and your 20 place has every likelihood to be just as excellent with regards to food quality and service as anywhere else.   Once you get up in the stratosphere of prices - as in $50 and up for just the entree,  then it better be better or the place will go out of business.  However, I have little use for hankies on the arm and other things I can't eat.   If a place is clean and quiet, service is good, and the food is delicious,  and the wine is nice but unpretentious, then, that's all I want to pay for.  Anything else is wasted money for me personally.

Anyhoo - back to the point.  I got carried away.  I like Outback as well.  Some cities - they aren't as good as others.  For example - Outbacks in Texas are butt kicking fabulous.  Outbacks in Seattle can't get good beef to save their lives and the bar is set so low up there for beef that it doesn't really matter.

for the record - Ryan's and Golden Corral are ok for a cheap lunch or a gut fill when you just need to eat and not much else is close but I'd avoid them for a date situation.

If you have any nearby - you might look into the availability of a Churrascaria (Brazilian Steakhouse). They are usually super upscale, but will bring meat to your table until you stop them.   They are mostly fixed price at 30-50 per person.  If you stick with beer, you might make it for less than 100 and most of them have the potential to serve a very impressive meal.
