  1. I saw an article on the internet.  It said that you can get a aquarium safe rock and place it in a bowl with aquarium water.  Place it in a sunny spot and algae will grow on the rock.  I have not tried it but that is what I read.  I have platies and they like to eat algae so I bought an algae ball from petco.  I also bout some algae wafers.  They are pretty hard but you can try to break them up they usually get soft after being in the water a while. I hope this helps.

  2. lol do absolutely nothing.... it will come! i have the exact opposite problem! if it doesnt have a light put a light on. maybe if its small enough, you can bring the tank near a window so it gets sunlight. if the fish are algae eaters, they will aallways have enough algae even when you don't see any! sometimes they will even eat the fish food

  3. Oh believe me, they'll eat... with or without the algae as long as you feed them frequently. The only way to "grow" algae is to put your tank by a sunny window and put some live plants in there, and it takes a little while.

  4. stop cleaning the tank..   =ppp
