  1. 1. That roll is $43+ bucks. How many square feet is it, and how many square feet are you trying to cover. Most likely it isn't that great of a product. It looks like it falls in line with the "cut and lay" flower beds. Low quality seeds that don't really do much. Where are you from and does that grass even grow well there?

    2. You cant just lay down a carpet of grass seeds on concrete and expect it to grow. You gotta have some soil there. I do not recommend pouring topsoil onto your concrete then planting.

    A. Because you would have to place at least 6 inches of topsoil to ensure proper root structure and growth.

    B. Drainage. Even though you have a lawn, rain water seeps into the ground and has to go somewhere. You may have a problem with drainage and end up with a very soggy lawn.

Unfortunately, I cant recommend any shortcut to your question. It seems like you're going to have a big job ahead of you if you want to do it right:

    1. That concrete needs to come up

    2. A surveying crew should check the ground for water lines/cables before any work begins.

    3. You need to have the soil tested for ph balances, possibly add some new topsoil/till the soil,

    4. Order some sod and place it in your new dirt backyard

    5. Press roll the new sod for good contact with the soil.

Then water and new lawn care procedures follow. Good luck!

  2. paint it green , eliminates mowing

  3. any grass even the one you have listed needs dirt to be able to take root in, the only way you will be able to get grass to grow is to put down several inches of top soil on top of the concrete and then plant the grass.

  4. just throw some soil on the concrete and try to grow the grass
