I want to hang a hammock indoors by s******g hammock hooks into the studs in my walls. Will they support it?

The hooks are question mark shaped and are labelled as hammock hooks and able to support over 300 lbs. I'm just wondering if my wall will fall down or if the 2x4 inside it can really support that sort of tension.

  1. they will suport but you better make sure they dead center

  2. Well,it depends.how much do you weigh? It says it can hold up to 300 pounds, but ,remember.this isint a tree.youll probably have to be at least 30 pounds lighter than that.2x4 is pretty strong,so you should ok as long as you dont act like the hammock is a swing.Good luck!

  3. 2x4's can support a good deal of weight, and you will more than likely be s******g the hooks into the narrow side of the board if your wall is properly constructed.  There is a chance though that you could miss the center of the stud and end up in a weaker portion of the wood, and even if you hit the exact center, you could end up bowing the wall some while your in the hammock.

  4. no  but if you do send me pics i want to laught

  5. I would use a more stable hook, try going to lowes or home depot and asking them what to use. Anyways if installed right it will hold, I wouldnt be doing any arobics in the hammock but if just using it to relax in it should hold. You will want to find the dead center of the 2x4. Take a nail and hammer it into the wall until you find the 2x4 after locating the 2x4 keep moving the nail over til you find both ends of the 2x4 and then mark your center, a 2x4 is not actually 2 inches it is 1 1/2 inches. After you find your center then just put your hook in as straight as possible. Push in on the hook as you rotate it this will help get it started. Good luck and enjoy!
