I want to hang a painting on my wall but.?

the wall of my apartment sounds hallow when i tap.. lol i am even scared if i drive a nail in my wall it might go to the neighbors wall..how can i fix it? plz help...

Get an adhesive hook. They can old up to 100 pounds, Home Depot or any hardware store carries them.

At ACE hardware (and I think Wal-Mart, too) they have these 3-packs of picture hangers.  I don't know the name, but they are gold.  They are like a gold nail with a round dime sized part right in the middle of the nail.  They are angled.  They come in different sizes depending on how heavy your picture is.  They are SO easy to use.  Just hammer it in and hang your picture.  I am not an engineer, but it appears to me that being angled, it puts most of the pressure on the middle dime-sized peice that lays flush against your wall, eliminating the need for any kind of other kind of device to keep it from ripping the sheetrock from the weight.

I seriously doubt this will come out of your neighbors side of the wall.  Most walls are built with 2x4 or 2x6 studs, giving you ample room to hang nails.  Good luck!
