I want to have a BLACK and PINK room..Ideas!!?

Question

im 17, my current room is so baby-ish, so iv asked for a black and pink bedroom, Im not allowed to Wallpaper, im just allowed to paint, dads lazy.

If you have any good pictures or ideas, that would be a great help!

My room is also very small. its a box room.

and i have a beech laminate floor.

I like alot of modern designs, i dont want any babyish poodle or eifel tower designs lol.

I would paint the walls in a flat pink (pale or hot) and then do all the trim in semi-gloss black.

Then stick to a simple strict theme of black, white and silver furnishings

Even though she's super annoying see if you can find pictures of Miley Cyrus's bedroom & closet, the closet is all pink and black.

Punk Rock theme, black & pink plaid, checker/ska theme, animal print (black & white zebra with pink highlights), black & white houndstooth with pink accents, pink wall with black & white bedding & pink pillows & cool B/W framed & matted photos on the walls - paint big white blocks on the walls to "frame" the frames.

Im 23, My room is Black an Pink. I Painted my walls white. I bought all black furniture and painted some of my furniture black. I have a black comforter and hot pink sheets and Pillows. But The black top pillows. and some pink and black throw pillows. I have a large mirror with a black framing with black candle holders framing the outside of it.  At the head of my bead I chose to design a Black and pink painting that I did myself. It is relatively easy to do, just get some ideas and paint it is adds color. I have a Large picture frame that I made a collage of my friends and my trip to Europe. The background is the same pink and black used throughout the room. I have a black desk, a black dresser and a black bookshelf. On the book shelf I added some hot pink baskets on the shelves in different areas to add color. On top I framed some black and white personal pictures of me and my friends and such and used a pink matte in the black frames and two black vases with pink flowes this is in front of my window which is higher. so it frames it nicely. I also have a shelf at the head of my bed that holds 5 small black and white pictures. baove the shelf is the picture i painted. on the shelf I have some black vases that with some pink flowers in it. and some candles in the middle. Black pink candles are hard to find. I chose a black curtain rod. Its a double rod and I have a flat pink curtain in the back and a sheer black one angling in the front. I have a pink trunk and the foot of my bed as well. I have found a way to make a great room with the colors i wanted without having to paint my ways a dark color that you are never sure will come out ok. I have a young looking but very sophisticated way of using the colors that  I love in my room. All my walls have decorations that bring in black and pink. I have gotten a lot of compliments on it.

I think if you want a black and pink room that would be lovely.  I would paint the walls pink and have 'block' colours of black on your walls.  Then you could put maybe a pink picture in them (that way the black and pink would continue inside your 'block')  You could also put lots of pictures in a photo frame, but print them out in black and white from your pc, and put in one of the black blocks - again, keeping the colours matching.

If you use too much black, you would darken the room if it is so small.  You could also have some 'playboy' bunnies in your room, they come in the black and pink colours, maybe go for that on your quilt cover or curtains?

Black and pink will look great.  Make sure when you do the blocks that your dad uses masking take to paint inside and don't take the masking tape off until it is fully dry.

If you had 3 walls pink and one wall black it wouldnt make the room too dark if it's a small room.

Another idea would be to paint all 4 walls pink and then have black accessories in the room to make it appear to have more black in it.

I'm 35 and I LOVE eifel tower type designs...so 1950s! But anyway...all black or all pink walls will be way too oppressive...you will need what's called an accent colour to go with your two main colours...cream might work well...I would paint two walls cream and two pink...opposite each other...so cream opposite cream and pink opposite pink...then have big black scatter cushions and a cream rug on the floor...a pink bedspread and black blinds....OR pink curtains....you can buy accesories in black ..or have some black shelves with pink and cream ornamnents on them.

Funny you should ask, I'm planning the same for our 13 year old's room!  Here's what I know I'll do so far:  I'll go with pink walls and white trim.  I might do a two-tone pink stripe but am not sure yet.  On the top 1/4 of the walls I am going to paint black circles - BIG circles & little circles.  I'll do this by using a thumb tack to anchor a string then tie my pencil to that string and circle around it  After that, it's just painting within the lines.  Most of the wall decor will be black and white, since her bedding is pink.
