I want to have a tubal ligation after my fifth bay is born in February but?

I am very terrified because my Doc said I have to wait 2-3 days after the birth of my baby. I am worried because I'd rather they get it over with right after the delivery but he says something about giving my body a rest. But I feel like after all that trauma who would want to be fiddled with after I had a chance to get home and rest. I really don't think I would want to be bothered for a while after giving birth. What are the procedures and how painful is it? Can I be put to sleep?

Are you having a C-Section?  They sometimes do a tubal ligation then.  They wouldn't straight after you gave birth vaginally though.
