Question:

I want to have decorations donated for a fundraising for my charity organization....how can i do this?

I was going to contact local high schools and such.... any other ideas?

  1. You can go to the stores in your area and ask for donations. Just go to the customer service desk and ask for a donation application.


  2. If it is a local charity you might want to ask businesses for an "in-kind" donation, meaning that they will give you supplies and you give them a receipt that they can use on their taxes.  This is a pretty broad question, if you want flowers, try a florist, if you want streamers and balloons , try a party store or WalMart, etc.

  3. Ask local businesses (PaperTown, If It's Paper, PartyCity) for supplies.  I like your idea of contacting high schools.  Many of their groups like Beta Club, Cheerleaders, etc. need to fulfill service hours and charity work requirements.  Let them use the dontated supplies to make your decorations.  I've seen high school kids get very creative and elaborate with what they can do.

  4. I've seen people post requests for decorations on our local Freecycle group. You can go to freecycle.org and find out if there is one nearby.
