  1. How do you know you want it if you don't even know what it is or what it does?

  2. The army is just like a lot of things...if you want it, you have to earn it.  You have to be good with a weapon and be chosen to attend advanced marksmanship school and graduate. Then you may have some choice of the available weapons.

  3. It is a M-14.

  4. you dont get to choose what weapon you want in the army, they hand you something and thats what you get.

  5. It looks to me like a modified M-14.  It's a pretty good rifle but you usually don't get to choose which rifle you use.  Personally I'd like a .50 cal. sniper rifle.  They are accurate up to two miles and you can easily cap someone from one mile.  The longest confirmed kill was over a mile by a Marine.  They even made 3 movies about his abilities in action called "Sniper, 2 & 3".

M-14 is a good rifle and it is a military rifle.

  6. It's an M-21.  It's been around since the Vietnam war; it's a hand selected M-14 rifle in 7.62 x 51mm NATO,  which has been arsenal fitted with a glass bedded composite stock, topped off with with a Leatherwood ART (Automatic Ranging Telescope) which eliminates holdover when firing at long range. Useful accuracy when firing issued National Match ammunition, using a 165 grain boat tail bullet, 800-850 meters; maximum effective range, 1100 meters.  The bipods tend to get 'lost' in the field in my experience, because they're boat anchor heavy and contribute nothing to shooting that a rucksack under the rifle won't.

It's been the cause of death for folks the US Army have decided have reached their shelf life for about forty years, and unlike the Big 50's can be carried easily all day- 'specially without the bipod.

  7. Its an M14 with a harris bipod attachment, not sure on the scope.

You will have to go through sniper school to receive the weapon, which, looking at your intelligence, your probably not smart enough for.

  8. You have to go through sniper school after finishing basic training in the Army. You can't just say I want to shoot this weapon. Army Sniper School is very hard because not many people make it.
