so in a week I will embark on a series of trips and I will be spending a lot of time in airports and planes most likely

I'm a bit inexperienced in dealing with these types of things

anything from clothing choice to food to carry-on....etc.

  1. when on a plane i always suggest something you find really comfy to wear.

be sure to bring a jacket of some kind cuz when they have the ac on in thplane it can get cold. and the blanket they provide doesn't keep you warm enough.

also buy a neck pillow from walmart cuz their pillow sucks too.

personally to get as comfy as i can i wear sweats and i take off my shoes during the flight.

and for snacks to bring i usually make sure i have some gum.

and bring snacks like potatoe chips, oreo cookies, fruit grain bar. stuff that is simple yet sorta fils you up.

and i always buy a water bottle before i get on the plane. after you go thru security you can buy and bring anything on the plane that you buy from a store in the airport.

for me a big bottle of water is always a must.

  2. I don't really get bored on airplanes anymore.  I used to when I was younger.  All I need now is my iPod.  I have made it through transatlantic flights with only my iPod.  At the airport, I either listen to my iPod or look out the window at the planes.  I do like to have gum or some type of chewy candy for my ears if they need to pop.  I also like to have maybe a bag of pretzels in case I get hungry.  Potato chips or something would work too it's just that I don't eat them.

Earlier this year I had I really bad sore throat on an airplane coming back from Puerto Rico and my ears just killed during the descent and landing.  They hurt SO bad.  Never fly with a sore throat.  If you absolutely can't avoid it, take gum and extremely chewy candy.  Also take a Claritin or two or 10 (ok just kidding) about a half hour before landing I'd say.

I usually just wear a pair of jeans made of stretch denim on airplanes.  They are more comfortable than stiff non-stretch.  I don't really like to wear sweats because usually when I get off a plane, I spring right into exploring the city.  I usually wear one of my comfortable cute tops and keep a hoodie and socks in my bag because it can get really cold on planes.  (Or really hot.  Just last month we were about to leave Madrid and something had made the power go out or something, and there was no a/c.  It was so hot in there!  Took about an hour for them to fix the problem too, so be prepared for anything)

If its a really long flight that you are going to try and sleep on, bring a little pillow and maybe a little blanket.  I can't anywhere besides a bed so I never bother, but the airplane pillows... you just don't know where they've been and it's a little gross.  Usually the blankets are ok.  They often come still in the bag.

Also, when booking connecting flights, allow yourself plenty of layover time.  This is one of the few cases where it's better to be pessimistic.  Expect delays with your first flight.  Expect it to be canceled.  That second plane is not waiting for you.

    Good luck!  happy travels!

  3. My number one tip is wear your trackpants and a t-shirt. Bring a jumper so you can comfortably adjust to the destinations climate. Maybe stash a packet of chips in your bag cause ive never met anyone whos a fan of airplane food (YUK!) as for everything else i think the previous answers have got it covered!
