I want to help! Where/how do I begin?

Question

I'm a highschool student and am interested in helping poor countries and communities. I have no money, and no clue where to start. It pains me to see so many people struggling to feed their children while I've been given so much.

Any ideas?

It's nice you want to help but why does it have to be another country. We have plenty of people who are out of work and their families are living on the streets. If you want to help try helping in soup kitches, old folks who could use someone to take them to Doctor visits, to buy groceries, clean for them and hospitals need volunteers all the time.
