I want to help my family out by doing a commercial

Question

I've always loved acting. My family is very poor right now, and some commercial jobs pay. I've looked everywhere for commercials in Chicago, IL that are open, but i've found none for my age.

and want a commercial that pays... NOT A PART TIME JOB AS A MOVIE EXTRA!!

Yes, I'd like one, too.  That's why my agent sends me on auditions all the time, hoping to get cast in one.  That's why I take classes in on-camera acting and auditioning technique, and in improvisation.  

You don't just get a commercial.  Plus, since you are non-union, you only get paid for the day's shoot (non-union scale can be as low as $250); only union people get residuals.

getting into acting will cost more than it pays for the first years so i dont think your intentions are straight

Don't limit yourself!  You may want the commercial job but take any job you can get!  Even if it only gets you experience.  More experience=better chance at better jobs.
